Let's say that USC and ASU win, and that Oregon is not chosen for an at-large BCS berth. In that scenario, USC goes to the Rose Bowl, Oregon to the Holiday Bowl, UCLA to the Sun Bowl. Next up is Insight, which chooses local team ASU (tied with Cal at 4-4, and bowl-eligible, thanks to their future win over Arizona). That leaves the Las Vegas Bowl for Cal, most likely.

Although this Mercury News article:
http://www.mercurynews.com/mld/mercurynews/sports/13215320.htm
suggests that the LV Bowl's schedule might conflict with finals at Cal, in which case the Bears _still_ might end up at SBC Park. Seems unlikely to me, though.

If ASU loses to Arizona, the Bears move up to the Insight Bowl. If Oregon gets a BCS berth, Cal might go to the Sun Bowl or the Insight Bowl -- it would depend on which team the Sun Bowl would prefer, but my guess is they'd pick ASU based on proximity and Cal would return to Phoenix.

In the truly wacky scenario, ASU loses to Arizona and Oregon gets picked for the BCS. Then Cal would be guaranteed the Sun Bowl.

But you're right -- there actually is an outside chance that only four Pac-10 teams will be bowl eligible. Pretty sad. Been a tough conference this year.
