A scripture quote to live by

'Peter got up and said to them, "My brothers, you are well aware that from early days God made his choice among you that through my mouth the Gentiles would hear the word of the gospel and believe.
And God, who knows the heart, bore witness by granting them the holy Spirit just as he did us. He made no distinction between us and them, for by faith he purified their hearts. Why, then, are you now putting God to the test by placing on the shoulders of the disciples a yoke that neither our ancestors nor we have been able to bear? On the contrary, we believe that we are saved through the grace of the Lord Jesus, in the same way as they."'

-From the Acts of the Apostles, Chapter 15, Verses 7 to 11.

One final promise

While this blog may be going offline, I never will. If you have a question about the Catholic faith, I will always be here to answer it. E-mail me at questions@thecrawfordfamily.net. I'll answer any question you may have.

Plus as long as I keep the page up, you'll know what day of the liturgical year it is along with what the liturgical color is. big grin

The End is Near!

So close that it is here! Well of this blog anyway. After a great deal of prayer and contemplation, I've decided to take this blog offline. I've got too many eggs in my basket and I don't feel that this blog has enough value for others to continue when I could be serving God in other ways. I get 10-20 visitors a day (including family and friends). I spend a couple hours a day when I post all the pieces I try to post. That just doesn't add up to me.

I'm an active sailor and one of the men I respect a great deal is a man named Fred Schroth. He ran the national organization for a type of boat I race for a number of years. He always believed the best way he could serve the fleet was to get as many boats out on the water, himself included. He would say that all the best newsletters, bulliten boards and websites were only as good as the number of people who were inspired enough to walk away from their computer, the newsletter, bulliten boards and websites, and go sailing.

So spiritually speaking, it is time for me to get up off my butt and go sailing! God needs me somewhere else besides entering reflections and answering questions (that I've mostly thought up myself) on my blog right now.

Thank you to all who have visited this site and the questions you've posted.
